In an old blog post, we mentioned how movie posters had really taken a turn for the worse over the years. How marketing movies had become lazy, especially for movies where a big opening weekend was guaranteed. Unfortunately this trend away from movie posters as an art form has only gotten worse, and recently hit rock bottom with the new Wolverine posters...that look like a twelve year old’s first foray into the ancient art of foto-shoppe.
Not ones to sit ideally by and watch multi-million dollar marketing campaigns that lack any sense of design, we decided to start a new monthly series dedicated to creating artful posters for movies that we are excited and inspired by.
Our first poster is for Star Trek Into Darkness, opening this weekend...enjoy!
